Admission procedure


 

 

B.ED ADMISSION PROCEDURE

(TWO-YEAR/4 SEMESTERS)

 

 

Admission of students is carried out as per Government regulations. 50% of the seats are filled from the rank list prepared by the University on the basis of merit. 50% of the seats are filled from the list prepared by the Management on the basis of merit.

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc) from Calicut University or a degree recognized as equivalent. Must follow the 10+2+3 pattern, except for BA/BSc degree holders under the liberalized scheme. At least 50% marks in the qualifying degree (Parts I+II+III combined), or 50% in Part III alone. 
  • For candidates with a Master’s degree, also 50% minimum in the same subject. 
  • Engineering / Technology graduates (for certain subject options like Physical Science/Mathematics) with 55% marks may also apply. 
  • An equivalency certificate is required if the degree is from a university outside Kerala. 
  • There is no upper age limit. 

ADMISSION PROCESS

The University publishes a prospectus for B.Ed admissions and releases notification for application via the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). 

Online Registration (CAP Registration)

Candidates must register online using the CAP website (often https://admission.uoc.ac.in/) or specific B.Ed portal. After payment, take a print of the application and this print (with payment/chalan slip) is to be kept and later submitted at the college where the seat is allotted. 

Ranking/Merit list/Allotment

The university prepares rank/merit lists based on qualifying exam marks and other weightages (if applicable). There is “trial allotments” followed by “first allotment” and “second allotment”. 

Reservation/Quotas

There are seats reserved under categories-SC, ST, OBC, persons with disabilities.

If a seat is allotted, the candidate must pay mandatory/allotment fee (online or via e-chalan), then report to the allotted college with required documents to complete admission. 

Document Verification

Students selected for the course will have to submit the following certificates at the time of admission. No admission will be made, without producing anyone one of the following.

  • S.S.L.C Certificate
  • Plus Two Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate
  • A recent Conduct Certificate
  • Mark list of the Qualifying Degree/ P.G (Complete Set)
  • Degree/ P.G Certificate
  • Equivalency Certificate from the University of Calicut in case of candidates who passed the qualifying examinations from Universities outside Kerala
  • Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OEC and OBC should submit Caste Certificate and Income Certificate from the Tahasildar and the Village Officer respectively.
  • Copy of Aadhar card
  • Two passport size photograph (with the names written at the back and enclosed in a plane envelop).
